I love these things! Little fitted weskits (vests) -such a perfect way to dress up the lovely, simplistic Regency dresses. For day or evening wear.
This particular one is made froma beautiful, shimmery bronze colored silk.
Ready to ship, and now available in the shop!
Laces up the front with hand-sewn thread eyelets and narrow brown satin ribbon.
The edges are bound with matching silk.
I think these look especially nice against white dresses, and I can imagine so many lovely color combinations, from pastels to jewel tones! More weskits are definately on my to-do list. :) So fun!
It's gorgeous!

I absolutely love it!! Such a neat way to inexpensively dress up a gown (because I could imagine you could do with with some cheaper fabrics.). I really like it!! :)
ReplyDeleteSo, now that you're building up this beautiful regency 'closet', I'm thinking we're going to have to do a regency themed mini-movie next time we see each other! ;) Course, getting the boys to do it might be slightly difficult.. haha! ;)
Oh, so lovely! Looks like it popped right out of a Jane Austen movie.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of pattern did you use to make it? So neat! :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Absolutely LOVELY! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks, yall! :)
ReplyDeleteSarah - yes! that is a must. lol.
Kerry - Orginally I began with a spencer pattern compiled from various pattern diagrams, then altered and cut it down for the weskit shape.
Lovely! You probably already know this, but here goes. "Weskit" is the phonetic spelling of a common way the word "waistcoat" is pronounced. "Vest" refers to underwear, in traditional English - the King's English, I guess you could say. This garment serves the same function of a gentleman's waistcoat or vest. (in the new world) and so it shares it's name. :) (Am I the only one who enjoys such information?)
ReplyDeleteWonderful! You did a fantastic job and it's simply beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love it.
