Back to sewing {finally}! Aqua Blue Late Regency Dress

Got inspired in July to make this dress - my "Molly Gibson" pattern of a late Regency era -- 1820s style in a semi sheer cotton lawn in a bee-u-tee-ful bright aqua-sky blue.

The skirt is a bit more gathered in front than earlier Regency styles, and the sleeves are quite large!
 I love puffed sleeves.

The neckline is hand edged with the tiniest, most delicate vintage creamy lace.

The hem has two layers of cascading ruffles, so flowy and spin-able!

I love being finally back to sewing for my shop! This is the first ready-made piece I have made in over a year, and it was such fun. To see more details and price, please visit the listing here.

  5. Beautiful!! Someone needs to go to a ball in the gown. :)
I'm going to need to make a regency dress for myself for our Pride and Prejudice play... going to be interesting, as I don't have much of a pattern. However, I'm looking forward to the challenge! I shall now be officially stalking your blog for a while to find all the pictures I can of any regency dresses you've done... =D
