Log House Progress

Jordan has been at work non stop on our house! It's looking so good! Only a couple of weeks until I get to see it in person! We've been so blessed to have family and friends pitch in to help Jordan with the construction.

So, here are the pictures -  be prepared to be amazed!

Second story beginnings...

Corners going up...

Lifting the last long logs

Cedar porch posts

Mudrom roof on + house roof beginning

Joists and rafters for the top story

Rafters done!

Won't we have a lovely view from our upstairs porch??

2nd story inside

Looks quite a mansion, doesn't it?
Possibly my favorite part is the *huge* porch. I had no idea it was going to be so big. I know I plan to spend alot of summer time on that porch! :)
Roof progress...

Putting on the metal...

Roof finished!

Sub flooring on the first floor

Attic space

In between logs in - window openings prepared

Wire mesh goes in the spaces to hold the chinking (mortar)

I LOVE the windows! I think they fit our house so perfectly. Looks like home already!

So far....

I'm so excited! I know I'm going to love living in this house Jordan has built. Not only for the beautiful design, or because it's wonderfully old fashioned, or sturdily built - but mostly because of all the time and love Jordan has put into it over the last year and a half. That is absolutely beyond price.

This may be my last post before the wedding! Only 16 days left to go...!

Prayers for Jordan and I as we prepare to begin our new life together would be so much appreciated!

Next time I'll be blogging from Tennessee....! :)

I *LOVE* the porch!!! I've always adored those "double-decker" porches on mid 19th c. homes. And the windows look perfect! Congratulations again and prayers for your upcoming marriage!

So lovely! Reminds me of a song from Barbara Damashek's musical "Quilters". "Every log in my house--straight as a pine can grow!!"
Enjoy your beautiful piece of historic ground under an everlasting sky,

It is so, so incredible. What a beautiful home, and how incredible to know it has been built with so much love and significance attached to it. Makes me almost wish I could go back and get married over again, and start out like this! May God bless you and your soon-to-be husband as you start this wonderful, amazing, beautiful journey together.

How exciting! It's a lovely house - the big porches are my favorite part, too - and so special that Jordan built it for you.

You and Jordan will be in my prayers:)

Love and blessings,

Hello Atlanta!

First, let me congratulate you on your engagement and soon-to-be marriage! The Lord works in such marvelous ways, doesn't He?

I just wanted to leave a note to say that I've been a reader for several years now, and as of late have enjoyed seeing the updates on your wedding preparation and house progress! I look forward to hearing about the wedding and seeing pictures of your home once it is finished. I'm sure it's going to be absolutely beautiful! I've always been partial to log cabins. ;)

My family and I have visited that area of Tennessee before and are acquainted with several families there, so I know it will be a lovely place to live. :)

May the Lord richly bless you and your new life with Jordan in Tennessee!

Congratulations and God bless you both. I've been reading your blog for the past few years and enjoyed seeing your skill as a seamstress. I've been married for twenty-five years and we have nine beautiful children. We've had our ups and downs, but if you are both close to God you can get through them all together. Linda S. from Canada
