Retro Themed Homeschool Dance Part 2

The dance was held in an old school gym with very worn wood floors. It was really perfect for the dance - just the right size!

We did a conglomeration of 1860s ballroom, English Country, and Swing dances.

List of dances...

Virginia Reel

Racing across the floor....

I love swing dancing! We've just learned some recently - but it's soo much fun!

Rebecca, myself, and Ginger

The Carolina Promenade

Broom dance craziness!

Just the girls!

The whole group - about 96 in all!

Such a wondeful time! I hope we can do it again soon!

What fun! Great pictures! I love dancing, and swing dancing is fun. Dad is pretty good at it so you just follow him. :) We are trying to teach the boys so we all have partners.
I love all the pictures, thanks for posting them!
Love you guys!

Oh oh oh! What a wonderful event. Just looking at the pictures has sent me into raptures. =)

Everyone looks marvelous. . . All of you ladies came up with some stunning outfits, and I'm so impressed with the boy's 40s dress, as well! Where did you find the military clothing? Or did you just mix and match and/or sew each outfit? At any rate, my new goal is to get my brother rigged up in that style. It looks absolutely dashing, but goodness know how I'll convince him of that! ;D

Kellie - the guys bought their uniforms at an antique store in San Antonio when we were there last fall. The shirt were just some light green or tan western style shirts from their closet, and the black ties I made.

Good luck on getting your brothers outift together!

We have an Irish Ceili we go to every month here in New Zealand which is very similar and with a live band. Its so much fun stomping around!
