Tinkerbell's Wardrobe (A Fairy Fashion Shopping Guide)

This is my entry in the Make Believe Event at Wickfield!

Our story begins deep in the woods of Neverland - inside the hidden boudoir of a small fairy named Tinkerbell.

She has a dilemma. The fairie's annual Mid-Summer Grand Ball is fast approaching. Tink takes one peek into her closet,  throws herself on the bed and moans out the inevitable despair of every girl since the beginning of time - that she has nothing to wear.

So - what to do but go shopping? Help Tink decide between her many favorites.....

Announcing: Design Your Own Dress Series! (and Giveaway)

I'm pleased to introduce the first Design Your Own Dress packet!

~ Design Your Own 1860s Dress ~

I've been working on this project for more than a year - and it's finally complete!

A beautiful kit that historical costume enthusiasts and children of all ages will enjoy! Designs ready to trace and color to create your own unique ensembles!

Start with the model attired in proper Victorian undergarments, then add a skirt, bodice, trimmings, shawl, a bonnet, and much more! The possibilities for creativity are endless! Mix, match, and trace to create endless  unique ensembles, all historically accurate for the Civil War era. Have fun designing dresses while learning about the fashions of the time period.

Included in the package:

6 sheets of black and white drawings featuring:

a Model, Hairstyles, Gloves and Skirts, Bodice Options, Fabric Designs, Bodice Trimmings, Belts, Aprons, Shawls, Bonnets, and more!

12 sheets of tracing paper, 1 sheet of notes and instructions

All pages professionally printed on high quality paper.

Comes packaged in a handy clear plastic zipper pouch.

Perfect for gifts and school projects!

Great for seamstresses and reenactors too! Learn to design your creations on paper before you sew!

I've had several girls test it out - and they love it! Tracing to create a finished picture can help boost a young girl's confidence in their own artistic abilities, and encourage them to develop the skills to branch out with their own original art.

Use a variety of mediums to give your finished design some color!
 Pencils, pastels, crayons, markers, paint.....

Design a farm girl's working outfit, or a high-society ballgown! So many possibilites!

Available for purchase at the official website, or in my Etsy shop.

A Few Notes...

First of all - yesterday I realized that this little blog has 50 followers! Thank you ever so!  Sadly, my computer has a glitch and I'm not actually able to see *who* the followers are. (just the number). Sometimes I get to check on another computer, but not too often. So if you follow me, and I haven't discovered your blog yet - it's probably because I can't see it! So - sorry about that. Anyone have that same problem for blogger?

Another computer troubles note: if you have comments embedded under posts on your blog, I am not able to comment. Those pages always load up with errors for me. (my computer only lets me comment on pop-up or separate windows). So, again. If I frequent your blog, but never comment - that may be why. It's not because I'm not reading! :^)

So - my next post may be the long-awaited surprise. (and giveaway)
I'll try to hurry it up!

A Cloche

For a while I've been wanting a cloche. I have no idea if they are going in or out of style just now - but since they are vintage inspired anyhow, surely it doesn't matter too much. I usually only wear hats when working in the garden or at my summer job. (straw cowboy hat or my 1860s sunbonnet)

I've never worn a hat....like to go somewhere nice. It seems kinda scary - but I think I *might* be able to do it in a nice, quiet little cloche. What do you think? Does anyone wear 'nice' hats on a regular basis?
Also I wonder what sort of hairstyle I would need? A really low bun? Hmm.

Thoughts?

A few pretties:

Update

Sorry for the sporadic and random posts lately. I've been quite busy (though if you were to ask me, I don't know if I'd be able to tell you what with. Yeah. it's been one of those weeks.)

But - I will say that I have an exciting announcement coming (hopefully) in the next several days. I just have to put a few more things in place before I can officially tell the world about it! For a little hint, it has something to do with fashion deisgn. I can't wait!
