Announcing: Design Your Own Dress Series! (and Giveaway)

I'm pleased to introduce the first Design Your Own Dress packet!

~ Design Your Own 1860s Dress ~

I've been working on this project for more than a year - and it's finally complete!

A beautiful kit that historical costume enthusiasts and children of all ages will enjoy! Designs ready to trace and color to create your own unique ensembles!

Start with the model attired in proper Victorian undergarments, then add a skirt, bodice, trimmings, shawl, a bonnet, and much more! The possibilities for creativity are endless! Mix, match, and trace to create endless  unique ensembles, all historically accurate for the Civil War era. Have fun designing dresses while learning about the fashions of the time period.

Included in the package:

6 sheets of black and white drawings featuring:

a Model, Hairstyles, Gloves and Skirts, Bodice Options, Fabric Designs, Bodice Trimmings, Belts, Aprons, Shawls, Bonnets, and more!

12 sheets of tracing paper, 1 sheet of notes and instructions

All pages professionally printed on high quality paper.

Comes packaged in a handy clear plastic zipper pouch.

Perfect for gifts and school projects!

Great for seamstresses and reenactors too! Learn to design your creations on paper before you sew!

I've had several girls test it out - and they love it! Tracing to create a finished picture can help boost a young girl's confidence in their own artistic abilities, and encourage them to develop the skills to branch out with their own original art.

Use a variety of mediums to give your finished design some color!
 Pencils, pastels, crayons, markers, paint.....

Design a farm girl's working outfit, or a high-society ballgown! So many possibilites!

Available for purchase at the official website, or in my Etsy shop.

Shhhh! Sneak peek:
Regency Dress Designer coming soon!

What a great idea! It reminds me a little of my sisters fashion plates, but these feature modest old-fashioned clothing instead the 70s! I can't wait for your regency ones to come out!

Your Design Your Own Dress idea is lovely! I was just looking at one of the old "Betsy McCall" Paper dolls today that is the same sort of concept. What a great way to encourage girls to be creative. We would love to have a copy and have marked your shop on Etsy as a favorite.

That's SUCH a fantastic idea!
I'm not even sure if I want to enter the giveaway - there are much more worthy eventual owners here, I'm not so much into 1860s fashion as into Regency - but I have to comment, and I think I'll post about it on my blog as well, because it's really a great, great, great idea. Whoo, how I would have loved this as a child! The child in me still loves it!

Hana - Marmota said...

I still don't know if I really want this, but I posted about it on my blog, as promised. It's just too lovely not to share!
